Dreams can come true.

Planning a wedding can be stressful. Especially when you are in the final year of a university degree and your soon- to -be husband is studying for exams. We spent ages discussing where the right place would be for us to exchange our vows and to declare our love to our friends and family. The hotel venue is not our style. The one where your told where you must sit, when you can eat and where the beer cost an arm and a leg. We, or rather I wanted a traditional ceremony, somewhere with character and history. Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamt about my wedding day.
The church bells ringing, the horse drawn carriage and walking down the aisle to a beautiful love song. Our local church that situates at the top of our street seemed the most obvious choice. St Mary Magdalene Church is a beautiful Victorian building, built in the 1800s with stunning interior and exquisite stain glass windows. It is the perfect place. Many years ago, it cost nothing to get married in such a wonderful place, however now it cost £630….The wedding was booked. 10th August 2019.

Every girl dreams of a fairytale wedding. A venue full of fairy lights and beautiful lace seating covers. Glass vases full of pretty flowers placed in the centre of every table. A giant candy cart display that Willy Wonka would have sweet envy over and a Cinderella carriage taking centre stage with a 3 tier cake placed inside. Proper Northern food (fish and chips) and music all night long. A magical celebration shared with family and friends. A venue fit for a princess. This is my dream.
When I knew I was getting wed, I knew exactly what I wanted, but when you only have a budget of £4,000 how would this be possible. Well the truth is, for the price of £1,100 a fairy god mother will turn the local FREE club into a venue fit for a princess and for the price of £900 all my wonderful wedding guest will feast like kings on fish and chips. So has the rhyme goes; ‘ When you wish upon a star, it makes no difference who you are, when you wish upon a star your dreams come true’.
